Amazon UK has launched their new “Windowshop”, a redesigned version of their website in an attempt to make their site more user-friendly for iPad users.

With “intimate and fluid user interaction”, the Amazon Windowshop has a highly responsive interface that is exclusively on offer to iPad users; due the multi-touch technology on offer with Apple products.

If Amazon representatives are right about Windowshop then it should allow iPad users to have a better and far more interactive experience when shopping on their site.

Amazons’ Vice President of EU Retail, Greg Greeley, said, “Amazon Windowshop has been designed and built without compromise just for iPad and we are excited to be able to bring it to customers in the UK in time for Christmas.

As a result, the resign should make Christmas shopping a lot easier for iPad users.

Mr Greeley added, “It is a top-to-bottom rewrite of Amazon.co.uk with a completely new fluid experience that offers users a unique, fast and convenient way to search, browse and buy from Amazon.co.uk and thousands of Marketplace sellers.

The redesign may even lead to an increased level of sales for Amazon UK, as iPad users may decide to test the new site and could end up staying on the site and buying one of the millions of products on sale.

Thus the new site design is a key example of how important web presence is and how a user and SEO-friendly webpage can help to boost the sales of a company.
