Content Columbo October 22, 2009
People these days have a skewed view of their website as the only online presence for their industry.
When thinking up strategies to boost your online web presence in Google, it is important to look across your industry and the flaws of your site will become very apparent. This is where some detective work might come in handy , here are a few tips to improve your site:
1. Jot down 3 websites that are above you in Google.
2. Analyse their design and their navigation structure. Is it user friendly?
3. How much content do they have on a page? Is it considerably more than yours?
4. Is the content unique? Has it been copied from somewhere else?
5. What relevant keywords does the content contain?
6. How many pages of content do they have compared to your site?
7. Is the content relevant to the subject area?
And “One more thing…” adding more content to your site is not just a way to improve your own site but it is the beginning of a strategy aimed at gaining greater control of your industry.
