Writing content is vitally important as readers of this blog will be well aware of. A site with lots of good content and authority tends to do well on Google. So to get to this summit of greatness you have to put in lots of hardwork as well as lots of donkey work. One routine is to blog every day about news surrouding your industry. However, many people fail to stick to this routine and there are many reasons for this inlcuding…
-Can’t find anything to blog about
A common reason or excuse depending on your point of view is that there is “no news” on any particular day. This is a common misconception as there is always something you can write, such as reviews of other sites or a round up of your recent or most popular blogs. Remember everytime you blog on a Wordpress platform a ping is sent to the search engines meaning the site is more likely to get cached
-Busy doing other work
Another classic. Although downing all tools is not the solution, you really need to MAKE time for blogging, it is the only way to truly succeed. This might mean blogging at unsociable hours but it will be worth the extra effort in the end.
-Can’t be bothered
Probably the most common excuse. A lot of people can’t be bothered which is why a lot of site fail online.
-The current content hasn’t had an impact
It could take upto 6 – 12 months before you see the bigger benefits from content, although there are plenty of shorter term benefits. It is likely that your first blogs/pages will eventually become some of the strongest pages on your site.
-Arguments over the content of the content
This is one of the most unfortunate reasons why content doesn’t get written. Too many chefs arguing over the ingredients will mean the dinner never gets made. You should have one person or group of people with the authority of what goes on the site. It is imperative that the content gets written and does not get subjected to an endless committee stage.
