redsauce.com Defies Recession! January 24, 2010

Think tank Centre for Cities has said that it’ll take years for the majority of cities in the UK to recover from the recession.

It says that while some areas such as Cambridge and Edinburgh are “well-placed” to recover, areas such as Stoke-on-Trent are suffering because people are less qualified and there are fewer start-up businesses. While this might prove to be true for the majority, the same really can’t be said of redsauce. Since our launch last April we’ve gone from strength to strength. Hurrah!

But what’s our winning formula? Now, searching for the answer to this question I racked my brain long and hard. While it’d be easy to say luck, I think this is really not the case. The key is to never get comfortable. Although your website might place highly in Google after you’ve worked on it, it needs constant love, attention and updating to stay there.

Teamwork is another key factor. Although we all have our own key roles, we’re ready to adapt and help each other out in times of need. Everyone chipped in at Christmas to stop me from drowning in blogs, and while writing content might not be everyone’s cup of tea (ahem, Tim), everyone helped out without complaining.

Here’s a list of things that happen at least once a day in our office. You never know, they could be the reason we’re so successful!

1. Someone asks Tim if he’s booked his driving test yet.

2. James will eat something bad for breakfast/dinner; sometimes even both!

3. There will be a game of table football/Connect 4

4. Everyone will wait with baited breath while the tea club decider spins….before landing on Tim or James, no matter how many other people are in the club.

5. Someone will call Craig a crocodile.

6. Gary will ring.

7. There will be some joke about Simon’s hair or James’ dress sense.

8. James will show off his Reeboks.

9. Amy and Krista will visit Pound Land.

10. Amy and Dan will discuss the benefits of soup in a bag over soup in a tin.
