Tips for a better looking blog March 2, 2010 No Comments

Well done you have a blog, and you’re writing it frequently. But it looks awful. Slap!

So what can you do? Read on…

Start with a decent theme – If you understand CSS etc really well you can make your own, if you’re a complete novice, shop around online for themes you can buy  and install yourself. It’s really easy to do, and there are loads of tutorials online to show you how. If you’re in between a newbie and a pro, then take the most simple theme going and adapt it, that way you wont have to write any new code and but there is a wide scope to play about. Content – SEO’s answer to painting the Golden Gate Bridge January 25, 2010 No Comments

Content is an ever-growing, ever-changing strategy. I say strategy, as at redsauce, we successfully use content strategies to take our clients sites to places that they shouldn’t be, considering the price that they have paid!

Strategy: an elaborate and systematic plan of action

How true – as well as more than first-rate SEO techniques – so good, in fact, that we consider what others claim to be amazing techniques as merely the ‘norm’ – we produce a plan of action for our clients in terms of the content written for their sites. Read the rest of this entry »

What to blog about? January 12, 2010 No Comments

We’re always saying how a blog can really help your website, and even humanise it a little. After all it’s always good to know there are real people behind the shiny website! But sometimes it’s it can be really tricky to think of what to actually write about…

But there are a few things you can do to make your blog that little bit more successful in attracting customers.

Having only been here for two weeks, I’m still learning the basics but I’ll share everything I know:

1. Remember who you’re writing for; It’s no use using techie jargon if your customers aren’t computer geeks. It might look good but ultimately it’s going to alienate your clients and drive your traffic right down. Similarly, remember the web is a universal tool; it’s no good writing in cockney-rhyming slang if you want to attract customers from America. They won’t understand a word and a silly thing like this could easily drive them straight into the arms of your competitor! Read the rest of this entry »
