The Redsauce eaterie doesn’t offer humble pie July 8, 2010 No Comments

I’m struggling to find an interesting topic to write about today, which doesn’t bode well for my creative potential seeing as I’ve only been here for two months.

What to write? I spend all day writing content, researching blogs, building sites and using SEO tools, so on occasion I get a little spaced out with key-word vocabulary.

I think my brain has become saturated with all things redsauce – even my dreams are connected to office happenings and so far I’ve had nocturnal visions about tech wizard Chris, social-networking-fanatic Matt and Manhattan-office-space-loving Amy (who appeared in my dreams as my landlord). Yes I am strange and yes redsauce has become ingrained on my soul like an everlasting tattoo. I’ve been branded with the redsauce mentality and I’m afraid I’m becoming more like James everyday ie. much better at spouting sarcastic quips to my colleagues. Help me someone!! Tweet, Tweet and spreading the seeds (or birdfood) June 22, 2010 No Comments

Last week I was persuaded to start Tweeting because “apparently” Twitter is where it’s at for future journalists.

So one week in and let me tell you what I think.

Well, I never thought I’d say this but I actually prefer it to Facebook and that’s because it’s like Facebook but a lot faster.

Twitter @Anywhere and everywhere! March 16, 2010 No Comments

Twitter’s CEO Evan Williams has announced another step for the social media platform called @Anywhere.

Basically the new system is designed to make Twitter more integrated with the web. So rather than going on a site or blog, then clicking on a ‘follow me on Twitter’ type button and going to their Twitter page, logging in and following them, it will all be integrated in a more simple way. Yep….I know I constantly harp on about Google and what they’re up to but this week they’ve announced plans which could affect every single one of us who are addicted to social networking sites. And, let’s face it, who isn’t?!

The world’s biggest search engine have announced plans to bring social media aspects to the already hugely successful Gmail service. Dubbed Google Buzz it allows users to quickly share messages, web links and photos with other users directly within Gmail. When do social networking sites get too personal? December 6, 2009 No Comments

stephen_frySocial networking sites are the newest phenomenon to hit the internet scene. They’re a great way to keep in contact, raise your profile and create great business links. But there seems to be a growing debate about social networking sites and users’ personal details.

Now we all know Stephen Fry and social networking sites aren’t always the best of friends. Earlier this year he took exception to a fan on Twitter who accused him of being boring and threatened to quit the site. In the end he accepted an apology from the culprit and stayed on the site. Now it seems Plaxo is the latest site to come under the comedian’s wrath.
