Can spending $80 on a hair cut or your website change your fortunes? June 23, 2010 No Comments
The boss may be away but he’s still in contact! James has been e-mailing fresh from the States everyday with his news… and what news he has!
So far in his 5 or 6 days he’s… well as far as I know he’s not really done a lot! The only thing that he’s been excited about doing in the 37oC Dallas sun is getting an $80 hair cut! Yes… he’s gone all the way to America to get his hair cut! Now this wouldn’t normally be cause for a blog post but it cleverly links in with SEO and content.
The thing is James unfortunately thinks that splashing out on an $80 haircut could change his fortunes and make him look less like a well-known cartoon character. In fact, he’s convinced himself so much that it’s going to work that he’s even come up with names of ladies he’s apparently met over there (all platonic of course, just in case Samantha is reading this!) If you’re a creative then this should be easy, even if web is not your area, you can still design it and pass it onto a web designer to put it together coherently. Keep it simple and let your work speak for itself. Don’t have too many gimmicks as it can be distracting to users trying to see what you do. Keep the branding on the site consistent and have simple navigation, don’t make your work hard to find! Read the rest of this entry »
Websites and Commitment Go Hand in Hand January 20, 2010 No Comments
Back in the late 90′s, the average Joe didn’t have a website. So if you were starting out, your competition online was limited. Knocking up a 5 page site on a certain subject and just leaving it may have been enough to see good rankings in the early Google search engine. Now, in the early ‘teenies’, the web is so saturated that a small website in a moderately competitive industry just wont cut the mustard.
